Description The FIA approved Simpson Hybrid is the only frontal head restraint (FHR) that offers you the only alternative to the original HANS devices. The benefit of the Simpson Hybrid is it gives you a lot more freedom of movement within the car and is not reliant on the harnesses locking it in position to protect during a head-on collision. The straps around your body hold the FHR device in position, thus allowing you to comfortably wear the Hybrid full time while in the car or out of it. Another added benefit is not having to remove the device every time you remove your helmet. This being a big benefit in an enclosed cockpit during multi-stage events. The Hybrid Sport is now much lighter, weighing in at 20% less for the large size, including the hardware, the DuPont carbon/polymer construction is sleek, modern and appealing with defined wings for seatbelt containment. The Simpson Hybrid Sport is supplied ready to fit helmets with HANS posts, and the sliding and multi-tether system enhance side to side range of movement and field of vision. As an optional extra Simpson has developed the M61 quick release system that can easily be fitted to all FIA8858 or SA2010 approved helmets or any newer safety standard, these helmets have a fitted M6 threaded washer built into the shell allowing you to easily remove the HANS posts and renewing with the Simpson QR version. The quick release system allows the wearer to release the restraint by simply pulling the cord on the QR posts attached to the helmet. The Hybrid Sport is available in five sizes: XS, S, M, L and XL and is dependant on your chest size, please see the fitting sheet below which will show you the measurements needed to select the correct size. The Simpson Hybrid Sport is both SFI 38.1 and FIA certified.
